9781518739224: Expressions: I Didn't Know I Had It In Me

This book is a compilation of poetry written from 2008 to 2015. It's a reflection of life experiences, dreams, ambition, and general interest. What started out as a vessel to express myself on pen and paper became a body of work I'm proud of. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feel these feelings and think these thoughts. Writing the poems over time was an outlet. Releasing the poetry to the public is an outreach to help, heal, and maybe even humor. The views expressed in this book of poetry are those only of the author.

About the Author:

I was born Jamelle Smith on Feb. 6 1987. Brought up in Hobgood, NC, I attended Halifax County Schools in Scotland Neck, NC and graduated from Southeast Halifax High in 2005. I took notice of my writing ability while attending Brawley Middle School and it expanded from there. My style of writing is soulful and I pretty much write it how I feel it. Despite what I write about, I do what I do to show that I have dreams and I live in my truth. In all I do, I aim to make my mother proud and this project is dedicated to her.
