I am trying to do my small part to have a positive impact on the world and to make it a better place. First and foremost, I am a mother, then a teacher, and now a published author. I have always had two dreams in life; to have a child and to have a positive influence on the lives of all children. I am a teacher with my undergraduate in Elementary Education and my masters in Teaching Students with Disabilities. While teaching Universal Pre-K for many years, I was entrusted to help mold children into productive and loving individuals. The younger our children are given this responsibility, the more apt they are to consciously carry this responsibility through life with them. It was often difficult to find engaging stories that promoted values in entertaining ways, and in a manner that young children are able to grasp. That is when I felt compelled to write an innovative story that illustrates friendship and the importance of being able to view the world through another individual's point of view. In this story, the common perspective of the story being told through the viewpoint of a human is altered. As an alternative, The Frog That Brought a Human to School is told through the viewpoint of a five year old frog named Jumper. This exemplifies that we all have different perspectives and promotes empathy and acceptance towards others. I am asking for your help in letting teachers, coaches, parents, grandparents and mental health providers know that this valuable resource is available for them. The Frog That Brought a Human to School is a great resource to anyone who wishes to teach children about the importance of developing true friendships!
