Rescue Dogs was written as an educational tool to encourage children to always adopt their dogs (and other animals!) from a shelter or rescue group rather than a breeder or pet store. As harsh as the subject of animal shelters can be, Rescue Dogs is written in a positive, fun, upbeat and silly way. This poetic story features short real life "tails" of seven actual dogs rescued from a plethora of situations and brought to life in adorable illustrations. Rescue Dogs focuses on the happy and empowering fact that we can change the fate of animals in shelters rather than the sad or depressing side of the issue. Written for ages four and up, this book is sure to inspire love and excitement for animal rescue. Rescue Dogs isn't just for kids, either. It can be sentimental and educational for adults, too- whether you're an animal rescuer or not! Learn the amazing stories of loveable Lady, Hocus Pocus, Finn, Coco, Quincy, Sassy and Scooter; buy Rescue Dogs today!

My name is Chelsea Pinkham and my mission is to create a world where animals are treated with respect, compassion and empathy. I believe that all people are born with the natural trait of showing kindness to animals- and I also firmly believe that children who are taught to be kind to animals will inherently show kindness and altruism to their fellow human beings. Since I was a small child, I've always loved animals. My passion for helping them started out with lemonade stands and evolved into massive fundraisers, large and small rescue missions, high school presentations, and now, children's books. Being eighteen years old, I can recognize that education about crucial animal issues needs to start at the youngest possible age. After all, children are the ones who shape the future! However, from animals in circuses to animals on factory farms, these issues are not always easy to talk about- especially around young children. Noting a lack of mainstream children's books about animal issues I set out to produce my own. Rather than focusing on the scary or sad side of animal-related problems, I decided to focus my children's books on the fact that we can all make a difference as individuals. Lucky Lamb Books, named after a sweet and gentle lamb I helped save from being sent to auction, are fun, positive, upbeat, and sometimes even funny. My books will always focus on inspiring kids to get excited about ways that we can be kind to our planet's fellow inhabitants.
