I should've let him drown.
That's what any normal Mer would have done. Of course, if I was like the rest, I wouldn't have been lurking around that party yacht, trying to catch a glimpse of the humans.
My people will kill me if they find out--literally--but I can't help going back every time he shows up.
And he's offering me everything I've ever wanted: A chance to see land.
Those stormy blue eyes don't hurt, either.
Now I have to decide. Is it worth risking everything I've ever known, everything I've ever believed, to follow my heart? How can I say yes?
But how can I possibly say no?
New scenes lend additional insight into the characters, and the book comes with Legend of the Mer, the creation short story that started it all.
Readers of clean young adult fiction will enjoy this contemporary fantasy with all the charm of The Little Mermaid.

I've loved mermaids from a very young age. I think Disney's The Little Mermaid sparked it. I swore I could sing "just like" Ariel, and I always imagined I looked graceful diving beneath the water when I swam. Bath time brought more daydreams, as I admired the red highlights that seemed to pop out when my hair was under the clear water.
When I was watching Mermaid: The Body Found by the Discovery Channel, I thought my fantasy had come true. Mermaids are real, I thought. They existed in the depths, only an elite few knowing of their existence.Too bad that didn't turn out to be true.
But it sparked my imagination. How did mermaids come to exist? What were they doing now? Why were they hiding?
From that, Legend of the Mer was born.
What started out as a short story quickly developed into Skye's Lure, a sort of Little Mermaid retold. A little bit coming of age, a little bit ya mermaid romance, I'm pleased to present this young adult fantasy to the world. And I have some ideas to continue the story if the demand is there.
So I hope you read the story, and if you enjoy it, let me know--leave a review, leave a comment on my website, or send me a message.
Thanks for being incredibly you!

Literature has always been an important part of my life, whether as a reader or a writer. I particularly love clean young adult stories with at least a touch (or more) of magic and romance, which also happens to be what I write.
In addition to the books already published, I'm working on revising Antarctic Discovery, the modern uncovering of the Tower of Babel -- and the man who survived. I'm also revising my original novel, Call Her Forth, a tandem dream romance.
Between writing and chasing kids, I enjoy doing all things book. You can find out more at: AngeLeya.com
