“My Glass is Always Half Full” is about serious illnesses, difficult times and many other happenings that could have easily made the author bitter, but instead the opposite became true. She decided to chronicle her journey with factual details, intermittent happenings, intertwined with the all-important humor in any situation, and above all, gratitude.

The author, Marianne Laska, is a native of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where she graduated from Sophia Children’s Hospital and Dykzicht University with degrees in nursing. After immigrating to the United States, she attended St. Vincent’s School of Nursing to complete the course work required to practice as a registered nurse in Connecticut. She retired from St. Vincent’s Medical Center after 30 year of service and then returned to college for a degree in Behavioral and Social Science. She continues to be active as a community volunteer on many levels. Marianne and her husband, Bob, have been married for more than 40 years and reside in Milford, CT. They have two grown sons, Brian and Keith, and two grandchildren, Chloe and Bradley.
