Sometimes life conspires to keep us from the ones we love. While always painful, it can hurt more at Christmas than any other time of the year. Having recently lost his parents, Peter Taylor is especially grateful he’ll be able to spend one final Christmas Eve and Christmas morning in his childhood home, and then Christmas Day with his girlfriend Christine. When everything goes wrong, he still tries to find a way to make this Christmas his best ever. You’ll Be Home For Christmas picks up where the novel Committed left off and suggests that those we love never truly leave us. It considers the difference between what we might wish for and what matters most and shows that true love can overcome almost anything. Please note that this is a short story of just over 10,000 words.

From an early age, Michael Griffith liked all things creative. Despite left-brain abilities, he loved right-brain pursuits like writing and illustrating his stories in junior high school and singing and playing guitar in what would now be called a "classic rock" band. Pushed by college professors and by his wife (a former high school English teacher) to write, he promptly went to work in banking and trading on Wall Street. While that career was rewarding on several levels, he never lost the sense something was missing. Following a successful fight against a serious case of melanoma, and the untimely deaths of several extended family members and close friends, Michael decided to change. With no working DeLorean in sight and therefore, unable to transport back in time, he decided to drop everything and pick up where he'd left off with his dream of being a writer. Now his typical day involves beginning to write at about eight-thirty, making a run out for lunch near mid-day, and writing the rest of the afternoon. Nights are reserved for reading and research and going to sleep thinking about and looking forward to what he'll be writing the next day. It's all very hard work, though none of it feels like it is, except maybe the proofreading. And he couldn't be happier.
