Ketofy Everything! Based on the popular Ketogenic Diet, the two authors take the low-carb,high fat way of eating to a new level to make a sustainable lifestyle. Originally created in the early-20th century as a treatment for seizures in children, Keto has been shown to help treat and retard multiple neurological and physiological issues - from Alzheimer's to Attention Deficit to Type 2 Diabetes. The Hobbit and The Keto Iron Chef take two different but complimentary approaches to 'ketofying' foods - one a laid-back, small town diner approach, the other a more exotic and international flair. Both create amazing dishes using ingredients not typically used in traditional recipes, yet easily available. From a modified version of the wildly popular "Fat Head" dough that can be used for pastries, pies, pizza, and stromboli, to exotic yet easy to prepare international dishes like Asian Mochi, Dim Sum, and Crab Rangoons, the two chefs bring main courses, desserts, side dishes, and snacks to the table in a ketofied way. Ketoers joke about living off bacon and butter, but with Ketofy Everything! those are no longer the only choices!

From the Author:

The friendship with Tyo Prasetyo, the 'Keto Iron Chef' from Jakarta, Indonesia, came easily and quickly. Although our styles are decidedly different - I like to think of myself as a Keto local diner-type cook while Tyo is more gourmet and cultured - we had many common bonds. We use similar, unconventional ingredients, we love to create not only ketofied versions of traditional recipes, but our own creations as well, but most of all, we share a common philosophy - ketofying foods can make this a sustainable way of life. Food is an integral part of our society, bringing people together daily. Ignoring this core part of our lives is a common thread of 'diets.' We both recognize the need to bring food to the table on our terms, for the betterment of our lives and those we care about. As the friendship grew, I realized many of Tyo's recipes were getting lost in the shuffle on Facebook. His lifestyle didn't easily support blogging or other methods of keeping track of them and organized, so I took a leap and offered to blog them for him on my blog - shecallsmehobbit.com. He accepted. Since then, more and more have requested a cookbook of our recipes, so we created one - Ketofy Everything! It's not just a title, it's a philosophy, a way to make a 'diet' a sustainable way of life.

About the Author:

Living in rural New England, I'm an IT professional by day, Keto cook at night. I've struggled with my weight my entire life until I discovered the Ketogenic way of eating. What I didn't realize when I reluctantly started this counter-intuitive way of eating (what, fat isn't BAD??), is it has amazing neurological benefits as well. The deeper I got into this, the more I wanted to make this not just another 'diet,' but a sustainable way of living. Many of the common low carb recipes I found are too complex or not quite the same as the 'real' thing. Naturally curious, I dove into trying to create my own 'ketofied' recipes. I started blogging to keep track of them. Nicknamed 'The Hobbit' because of my physical stature and love of 'second breakfast,' I created a blog called She Calls Me Hobbit to post up my recipes and random ramblings about our life here in Maine. I was surprised to find as I shared them with others, they liked them as well. This energized me to continue to create and experiment. Along the way, I noticed another person doing similar things but with a definite International flair.
