This book is very easy to use. All you need to do is to write about what you are eating, and how you feel. There may be a connection, so it would be useful and interesting to see if you can find one. Perhaps sometimes there is no link at all that you can determine. The diary need not be written every day, and it is intended to be used when you feel like recording detail, rather than writing in it all of the time. However, you could use it regularly, of course. This is a large book (8.5"x11") and it is not intended to be put in a handbag or briefcase mainly, but it is intended to really immerse yourself within, when you have 'me time' to focus on your own life. It could be kept in the kitchen or in any room in the house, and writing in in may feel like a special moment, when your emotions are the centre of attention. You could potentially keep one for yourself and one for your partner or close friend, to see whether there are any overlaps with reactions to food. The diary offers the freedom to write what you really want to focus on, and it does not have prescribed sections other than 'food' and 'mood'. It is deliberately like a blank canvas for you to fill with what you wish to say. Writing this sort of diary could be a real adventure, exploring your deep gut feelings about food, and also about your emotions. This book is about you, and keeping a diary can be empowering, as you can look back on how you reacted and possibly try to find patterns. It is only when you feel that there is a food/mood association that this diary will spring into use. The person who said that people should not write in books did not realise that when we pick up a pen and write, we are linked in with our own true nature. This diary has few words supplied by the author, as it is for you to create your own space within, in which you feel comfortable about writing about food. It may be that you have an interest in nutrition, on a diet, or you may have allergies, intolerances or a medical condition, such as IBS. It may be very helpful for someone who suffers from fibromyalgia or M.E. (myalgic encephomyeltis). It may be that you suffer from an eating disorder, on the other hand, and that you would like to keep a diary of your reactions to food, as a guide. The diary is there to help you, and it is deliberately a lower price to ensure that it can be accessed by all. All proceeds will be donated to a charity helping those with M.E. Whatever your reason for wanting to write down your experiences, in doing so you will be educating yourself, while gaining considerable insight into any food/mood connections. Sit back and relax while writing your diary, and feel the power that you have inside. Learn to feel good about your body- live, laugh, love - and be happy!
