Elementary Engineering Surveying is a text book for students attending the first course on Engineering Survey. Dr. Jayanta Kumar Ghosh is working as Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department (Geomatics Engineering Group) of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He was born in Guwahati, Assam in the year 1962. He did his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Bengal Engineering College and Science University in the year 1984 and Master of Technology in Civil Engineering with specialization in Surveying, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in the year 1990. He did his doctor of philosophy degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in the year 1997. He bagged many national (National Scholar 1977, Ist prize by NRDF 1984 etc.) and international (DAAD fellowship 2007, Erasmus Mundus Scholar 2009 etc.) laurels in his academic career. He is engaged in teaching, research and consultancy works in Geomatics engineering for more than 30 years. He has more than 80 publications in the International and National journals of repute and conferences. He is member of different technical associations of National and International repute.
