WordPress is one of the most user-friendly and actively used content-management systems in existence today. You will most likely learn about it, when you start running your own business, blog or charity, and you are looking into purchasing a website. WordPress is popular because it is flexible & scalable and puts non-programmers in the drivers seat. This short booklet is an introduction to the vocabulary you will need to know in order to understand how to make the best decisions before, during and after setting up your first website in WordPress. It contains links, checklists, and includes a "Password Page", where you can record all the different passwords that are needed for one website. It is meant for newbies and beginners, but it can also be a refresher course for those who haven't been online in a while. If you are already familiar with WordPress, this book is probably not for you. Also, to make it clear, this book is just a very short introduction and doesn't go into any great detail in any area. It is just something that will introduce you to the many different aspects of WordPress Website development and let you look into the corresponding links for more details. This booklet also makes the assumption that you, or a web designer, will be setting up a self-hosted WordPress Website, most likely with a professional template, and that you are interested in the next steps, such as SEO, maintenance and security.
