Created in 2021 by professional photographer and celebrated storm chaser Mike Olbinski, the Storm Photos of the Year (or "Stormys") is the first online contest of its kind to celebrate this death-defying community and the spectacular, real-life images they alone can create. With multiple categories, tiers of awards, and stringent guidelines to ensure the integrity of the images, the Storm Photo of the Year Contest draws entrants from around the globe, from Australia to Italy to Canada to the United States's famed Tornado Alley.
