San Leon, the eccentric little village on the shores of Galveston Bay, looms large in a story of the Niles family and how they are influenced by descendants of the original native inhabitants of the town. Drugs, rock and roll, motorcycle gangs mixed with science, native curses, and spiritual searching involving characters like Jack Kerouac, Carlos Castaneda and others makes for a fascinating read.
