"In her amazing novel, About Irene, Cher Bibler's takes us inside the world of "dollkind," transcending the expected tea parties of the fashion dolls to the far corners of closets where the seedier dolls drink themselves free of lost loves and dull, shelf-sitting lives. Through those painted, glass, plastic eyes we see, just as the Grand Duke doll observes, that dolls are but a small reflection of the human psyche. This is an absorbing, fully-realized world from promising new writer." - Novelist Ellen Behrens
