Keeping a food diary has been determined to be a key to losing weight, says a study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. (August, 2008). The reason why food diaries work is because they increase awareness of where calories come from and because they make you accountable for what you eat. Writing it down helps you to cut down on mindless eating and helps you to later figure out where you have been going wrong. This log book has two pages for each day. The food log portion has you write down all food and beverages you take in, and the other features are areas to record exercise done during the day, vitamins and meds, and a place to record your number of portions. There are a few blank boxes for you to include other things like blood sugar numbers, points, etc.
