Margie Mae Heart was born on September 24, 1959, in Hays, Kansas. She was the middle child of Francis John Befort and Darlene Ann (Hammersmith) and Ernest Joseph Mattas, Jr. Margie Heart grew up in Gorham, Kansas until the age of five. Francis John Befort was killed in a pipeline accident in the oil field in Russell, Kansas. She was twenty-three months old when this happened. Her mom later married Ernest Joseph Mattas, Jr. when she was five years old. She moved with her sister Rosemary Anne (Befort) Shiever to 615 Old Highway 40 in Wilson, Kansas. She attended Wilson Grade and Wilson High school in Wilson, Kansas. Margie Mae Heart Attended Hutchinson Community College in Newton, Kansas at the train station and graduated with an A.S. in Criminal Justice Administration. Margie spent most of her adult years in Newton, Kansas married to Jerry Gene Heart and raising her sons, Ernest Eugene Heart and Michael Jeremiah Heart. After moving to Hays, Kansas, where she still resides. She became active in the Foster Grandparent Program. She switched to the Senior Companion Program and will be there a year August 24, 2016. Margie started collecting photos in 1981. She was encouraged to write by her teachers. Margie’s photos deal with actual happenings that occurred in her life. Releasing her emotions, by way of collecting photos. It has been Margie’s dream/goal for many years, to put together all of her photos and have them bound into a book for her family and friends and others to read. So, it is her fervent wish that “The Readers’ “enjoy these photos as much as she has enjoyed putting them into this book. Margie, especially appreciates the talent that was bestowed upon her Lord Jesus Christ, and it is her prayerful hope that someone who views these words will be inspired to know Him as she does.
