Kay Cocklin grew up in Westminster, MD. Born into a Christian family, she spent a large amount of time serving the Lord. Kay gave her life to Christ at the age of twenty during a Youth Retreat. After graduating from high school, she attended Findlay College (now the University of Findlay), and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1970. Since then she has taught all over the Eastern half of the United States, and six years in Germany. Kay married Joel Cocklin, also of Westminster, MD, in 1970. Joel and Kay moved to New Cumberland, PA, in 1972 to minister to the congregation of the New Cumberland First Church of God. After serving there for ten years, Joel was commissioned into the Army as a Chaplain, and they spent the next twenty-seven and a half years serving the military families wherever they were stationed. Kay has taught many Sunday School classes over the years and led countless workshops and retreats for couples and women. Her passion is centered around the healthy lifestyle of those who serve next to their husbands in ministry. She has recently written two books, Nobody Told Me: A Guide for Pastors’ Wives, and Choosing Your Battles: A Guide for Parenting. Kay’s positive attitude is evident as she meets with women in all situations.
