About the author: Federico Santi has lived in Newport, Rhode Island since 1985 and co-owns with his life partner and husband, John Gacher The Drawing Room Antiques at 152 Spring Street. He studied photography at Florida State University and his work has been featured in photo technique books and numerous regional publications. As a V.I.S.T.A. Volunteer in the late 1960’s he worked as a photojournalist for the Federal Government with his works exhibited at various Government and State venues over the years. Santi co-authored or authored several books including Art Nouveau Ironwork of Austria Hungary, Zsolnay Ceramics: Collecting a Culture, Newport Mansions: Postcards of the Gilded Age, and Newport Naval Training Station - a postcard history.
