Timothy George is the distinguished professor of divinity at the interdenominational Beeson Divinity School. He was founding dean of the school, serving as dean from 1989 to 2019. Dr. George has written more than twenty books, including Theology of the Reformers, the standard textbook on the subject. He is also general editor of the 28-volume Reformation Commentary on Scripture. He is an ordained minister in the Southern Baptist Convention. Dr. George was educated at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (A.B.), Harvard Divinity School (M.Div.), and Harvard University (Th.D.).
