Frances DeChantal is a pen name. The author believes that if she were called “Jane Frances De Chantal” in a loud voice, when she was a naughty child, then that is her name forever. She learned about childhood cancer when her son suffered through it though she insists that Collin is a very different and much more compliant patient. Her husband is from Iowa and has taken her there almost every summer for more than twenty-five years. Frances DeChantal lives in Northern Virginia, has four children, and teaches science to Middle Schoolers; she loves old-fashioned mysteries and she grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
