Synopsis

There is an ancient shack, in an ancient woods, with an equally ancient man inside. The aged creature has an aged tale to tell, a tale that I, Juke Alwhenza (distinguished journalist) am fated to chronicle: the story of how a quest for justice caused magic to leave our world.

Before the Great Shift and before the End of Times, before the ingenuity of the Pyramids or the fabled Hanging Gardens of Babylon, there was Pangaea...a fantastical land filled with possibility and imagination, with wonder and adventure and all of it- all of it tinged with the sickly sweet stench of magic brewing in the air.

When one thinks of magic one thinks of witchcraft and druids; of sparkle and the divine...of a life made easier by its presence. But what if this was not the case? What happens when magic haunts instead of helps? What happens when 'magic' includes mind control and soul theft? What happens when the darkness encroaches to breaking point, the people run in fear and there is naught but evil on all four sides?

War. War is what happens when magic becomes a curse. It is human nature, the great undoing of all things created, worshiped, adored and cherished. War comes to ravage the land, to break the people and to blight the earth beneath their feet...and what does one do, when one is faced with war?

Apparently, one gets behind Stephen Laurence...and he's just the butler.
