Dr. Walrond is an educator deeply committed to child advocacy. She is a veteran of the North Carolina public school system where she work for over a decade as a teacher, coordinator for special education programs, assistant principal, and principal of a local elementary school. Dr. Walrond earned her Ph.D. in special Education and Literacy, as well as two Masters degrees in Education and School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
