I never found out what a real thrill was like until I went over the Kettle Valley. . . .
The Kettle Valley Railway defied the topography of British Columbia. Endless hours of hard, dedicated work were needed to keep the trains running safely through the scorching summers and endless winter snows, and over seemingly endless grades.
From the earliest days of survey and construction to battling snow in the mountains, and shipping the Okanagan's prized fruit, here are the recollections of Kettle Valley railroaders recalling the railway as it was. Many newly discovered photographs, first-time interviews, and two previously unpublished paintings by Max Jacquiard make this book the perfect choice for railway history collectors.
