Book Description Raincoast Books, Vancouver, 2000. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Thomas Taylor (illustrator). 224pp; laminated boards ($19.95 rear), matching jacket ($19.95 rear); 203 x 133 x 19 mm. Seventh printing (number line ends with '7'); "printed and bound in Canada by Webcom", without Bloomsbury imprint. With Canadian ISBN replacing that of Bloomsbury (though the number given wrongly on the copyright page, 1-55192-396-5, does not accord with the correct number on the back cover, 1-55192-396-3). There are also two different bar-codes rear (repeated on the jacket). With list of four Harry Potter titles (opposite tp), the last, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, released in Britain, 8 July 2000. Note that the seventh Canadian paperback printing refers only to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (issued 2 July 1998); indicating that hardcover & paperback printings (apart from the first) were independently produced. TEXT POINTS: second title-page, with three-line title & crest (as opposed to the two-line original without crest); "Joanne Rowling" on copyright page; space added between "Taylor" & "1997" on copyright page; "highchair" instead of "high chair" (8:1); "1 wand" repeated (53:4 & 53:9). COVER & JACKET POINTS: young Dumbledore on spine & rear cover; 1997 Smarties Gold Award notice at foot of cover (not the Wendy Cooling, or Sunday Telegraph, blurb); three blurbs on rear cover (two, Canadian); orange star nearest the gutter on cover no longer superimposed on the red ground or green band of the title mast, but now peeking out from beneath them; no commas after judges' names on front flap; Lindsey Fraser blurb last on rear flap. Note that several of these generally-accepted 'points' (2, 4, 5, 6 & 10) in fact recur in much later printings, signifying little. A tight clean unmarked copy of the first Canadian edition with the Canadian ISBN; in bright jacket missing a tiny chip at foot of front panel. Seller Inventory # 001966
