Gordon Ritchie is internationally recognized as a leading authority on trade negotiations and business strategies. He enjoyed a distinguished public service career, culminating as Canadian ambassador for trade negotiations. On his retirement from government, he founded the international business consulting firm Strategico Inc. He is chairman, public affairs, Hill and Knowlton Canada, the leading public relations and government relations firm. He also serves on the boards of a number of leading Canadian corporations and non-profit organizations. Based in Ottawa, he is a frequent commentator on public affairs in the French and English media. Wrestling with the Elephant was his first book.
