Margaret Buffie is an award-winning author of young adult books. Her books include The Watcher and Angels Turn Their Backs. She lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. From School Library Journal:
Grade 7-10 - In this final volume in the trilogy, Emma is trying to save the world that she has discovered from an evil Game-playing genius. She must risk her life and the lives of her friends and family to finish the quest and win the Game. There is, naturally, a villain trying to beat her to the prize or trick her into giving it up. Of course, good triumphs over evil in the end. This is a well-written and exciting adventure, but it doesn't stand on its own. Because Emma's quest involves revisiting worlds that she discovered in past adventures and calling for help from past companions, readers unfamiliar with the first two books will be lost. Buffie tries to put the new characters in context, but the foreshadowing is directly related to Emma's previous adventures and the conflicts and friendships are picked up midstream as well. A rollicking story with plenty of aliens, danger, and conflict for fans of the series. - Saleena L. Davidson, South Brunswick Public Library, Monmouth Junction, NJ
