Synopsis
From 1975 to 1981, while he was becoming famous for writing the now-classic novels The Lure and Eyes, Felice Picano was also exploring the world of gay life in shorter pieces of compellingly original fiction. These stories were collected and published in a volume titled Slashed to Ribbons in Defense of Love and published by Picano's own Sea Horse Press. Long out of print and unavailable to readers who have only recently discovered Picano's writing through the international best-seller Like People In History, these stories represent some of Picano's finest work. Alyson is proud to present this collection of stories, which also includes Picano's long-unavailable retelling of the myth of Ganymede. This volume clearly illustrates why Felice Picano has become one of the world's most influential and respected gay writers.

About the Author
Felice Picano is author of The Book of Lies, Looking Glass Lives, the Ferro-Grumley Award-winning Like People in History, the autobiography A House on the Ocean, A House on the Bay, Ambidextrous, The Lure, and, with Dr. Charles Silverstein, The New Joy of Gay Sex. A longtime resident of New York, he now lives in Los Angeles.
