Among the books of this kind, it is difficult to come up with a better book than this Survey. Its authors do not ignore the problems in the historical and literary fields, or in ethics. Whenever they are unable to discern a clear solution, they say it; they do not avoid problems or impose dogmatic solutions when they lack evidential support. The bibliographic information is up to date and is helpful, and it does not limit itself to a single school of thought. It is safe to recommend this book, especially to those who share the conviction of its authors in regards to the inspiration and authority of Holy Scripture --F. F. Bruce
