Grade 5-8?Two high-interest cryptozoological titles that do not make the grade. Bigfoot simply relates numerous short accounts of sightings of the elusive Sasquatch in no logical order and with few hard facts. Loch Ness attempts to use the scientific method to investigate this creature's existence, but accepts legends and unconfirmed accounts as evidence. Both books are illustrated with photographs and sketchy, unclear drawings. The writing styles are disjointed and confusing. The text flow is interrupted in mid-sentence several times by double-page spreads of unrelated "feature articles." While their slim size and popular subject matter may attract reluctant readers, these books lack the consistent tone and clear organization of Daniel Cohen's numerous monster titles.?Elaine E.
