My goal in writing this book was to provide young adults with intelligent arguments on both sides of the censorship debate--the view that limits on expression are reasonable and the belief that they are not. I allow noted participants on each side of the issue to speak for themselves. The book includes quotes from such noted free speech advocates as Benjamin Franklin, George Hay, Hugo Black, William Brennan, William O. Douglas, Nat Hentoff, Marjorie Hines, Ice-T, and Luther Campbell. I also cite the more communitarian views of John Locke, Oliver Wendall Holmes, Jr., Robert H. Jackson, Warren E. Burger, and former Senator Paul Simon. Censorship remains one of the most complex and important issues faced by free societies around the world. I feel privileged to have been able to contribute to the debate.About the Author:
