From School Library Journal:

Grade 7 Up-A thorough, well-organized history. The series format features an easy-to-read text with black-and-white pictures or sidebars on every double-page spread. First-person accounts are included. The final chapter assesses the New Deal's impact on the United States. Woog compares the program's accomplishments (construction of public projects, new outlook toward government in daily life, and government regulations) with what it did not do (end the Great Depression, hunger, or unemployment). Political cartoons, photographs, and reproductions, some of poor quality, appear throughout. This title offers more detail than Gail Stewart's The New Deal (Silver Burdett, 1993) and complements Jacqueline Farrell's The Great Depression (Lucent, 1996).
