Lowell Speers grew up in the Badlands area of western South Dakota and began to acquire a reputation for being a "floral master." Long, sweeping leaves, delicate petals, and a certain romantic realism are the hallmarks of his distinctive style.
In the 20-plus years since Speers first met Bill Alexander and discovered the Alexander Wet-on-Wet Technique, he has been fascinated by the possibilities of the method. During this time, Speers has traveled extensively throughout the Untied State, teaching thousands of aspiring artists the characteristics of wet-on-wet floral painting.
Speers is also the co-star of the long-running art instructional television series "The Art of William Alexander and Lowell Speers." He currently lives in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas where he continues teaching the wet-on-wet technique while refining his artistic vision.
