Pablo Dominguez began drawing at the age of four. Although he received some formal training, Pablo's art education primarily comprised informal classes and artists' workshops, such as those given at the Beartooth School of Art in Montana. In pursuit of his art, Pablo travels to zoos, wildlife refuges, and state and national parks across the United States, spending hours observing, sketching, and photographing wildlife and landscapes. A resident of Michigan since his birth in 1961, Pablo and his wife Charlene share their home with two Labrador retrievers and four cats.
Rod Lawrence graduated magna cum laude with a degree in fine art from the University of Michigan in 1973. Since then he has worked full time as a professional artist. His credits include being named the Michigan Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year in 1979 and the Michigan United Conservation Club's Michigan Wildlife Artist of the Year in 1981. Rod painted the winning designs for the 1983, 1990, 1995, 2000, and 2002 Michigan Duck Stamps and the 1981, 1987, 1992, and 1995 Michigan Trout Stamp. Rod has exhibited in many group and one-man shows, including the prestigious Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's "Birds in Art" and "Wildlife: the Artist's View" shows. Rod is an active artists' wokshop instructor, and his art has appeared in many outdoor magazines and on limited edition collector plates. Rod lives in a log cabin in the hardwoods of northern Michigan with his wife Susan (an accomplished basket weaver and instructor) and their sons, Matthew and Brett.
