Synopsis

This is the second edition of the original book published in 2000. This new edition, copyrighted in 2002, has a new cover, and an updated history of the FDNY between 2000-2002 compiled by Janet Kimmerly, including the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The company photo section has been replaced by Those Who Made The Supreme Sacrifice at the World Trade Center. It is still available at the Fire Zone website.

About the Author

Paul Hashagen has been fighting fires since 1976. In 2003 he retired from the FDNY after twenty-five years of service, with twenty of those years in Rescue Company 1 in Manhattan. He is a former chief of the Freeport Fire Department and is still an active member of Truck Company 1. Paul, a contributing editor at Firehouse Magazine, has written several books on the history of the fire service.
