Al-Khilafah Ar-Rashidah, also known as the Rashidun Caliphate, The Rashidun Caliphate was the first of the four major caliphates established after the death of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. It was ruled by the first four successive caliphs (successors) of Muhammad after his death in 632 CE. These caliphs are collectively known in Sunni Islam as the Rashidun, or "Rightly Guided" caliphs (اَلْخُلَفَاءُ ٱلرَّاشِدُونَ al-Khulafā'ur-Rāshidūn). This book is written at upper elementary and junior levels. It deals with the most important periods in Islamic history. Abdullah al-Ahsan is a Muslim academic and professor of Comparative History in the Department of History and Civilization, International Islamic University Malaysia. He is known for his academic work documenting the Organization of Islamic Conference and addressing crises in the post-colonial Muslim world through study of the relationship between the contemporary Western and Islamic civilizations. Abdullah al-Ahsan completed his Bachelors and Masters in Pakistan from University of Punjab and Quaid-i-Azam University in General Studies and History, respectively. He continued his studies at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, doing a Masters in Islamic Studies, and finally gained his Ph.D in History from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. This study book was produced by the IQRA' International Educational Foundation in Chicago, IL, a non-profit Islamic Educational trust established in 1983.
