Catherine Black, PhD, ITAA, is an Associate Professor and Internship Coordinator in the Apparel, Merchandising, Design and Textile Department at Washington State University. Her teaching and research interests include creative and functional design and computer design in the apparel industry. Her creative designs have been exhibited in numerous juried exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Her research findings have been published in academic journals including the International Journal of Consumer Studies, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, and the Family & Consumer Sciences Research Journal.
