Lashier's thesis in graduate school was about students' transition from college to work. She created a program called 'From Backpack to Briefcase' to assist students in their transition from being a college student to a member of the workforce. Inspiration for the College Memories 101 memory journal spawned from her thesis research. Her goal was to create an opportunity for college graduates to reflect and revel in college's special events and people while transitioning into a new life phase.
The following memory journals were created by Lashier in 1998 when she started her company, Positive Transitions: Tassels and Tomorrows, 101 Questions to Preserve Precious High School Memories; College Memories 101, 101 Questions to Preserve Precious College Memories; and From This Day Forward, 101 Questions for the Bride to Preserve Precious Dating, Engagement and Wedding Memories. Each of these charming journals were designed to bring families and friends closer, spark new conversations and create priceless heirlooms through delightfully unique questions.
Lashier currently lives in Des Moines, Iowa. She is the Assistant Director of Residence Life and Coordinator of Greek Life for Drake University. She will be married on July 17, 1999, in Omaha, Nebraska. Lashier has always been an active Christian. She was a strong leader in her church youth group and involved in the state organization, Lutheran Youth of Nebraska. She has taught Vacation Bible School for numerous years. Having quality time with family is Lashier's favorite way to spend free time; however, she also enjoys running, reading, attending college football games, playing with her basset hound, Buford Bailey, and creating scrapbooks.
