Flipped learning empowers educators to engage students, personalize learning and reclaim valuable class time. But some teachers may still be wondering, How can this model work for me? While there s no step-by-step formula for flipped learning success, this book guides you through developing an approach in the direction of flipped learning that will serve you and your students. From the best-selling authors of Flip Your Classroom: Reach Every Student Every Classroom Every Day, this follow on title includes questions and activities to help educators reflect on the why and how of flipping your classroom, plus learning about the flipped-mastery models.

About the Author:

Jonathan Bergmann believes that educators should ask one guiding question: What is best for my students in my classroom? To the best of his abilities, he has done this in his 25 years as a high school science teacher. He received the Presidential Award for Excellence for Math and Science Teaching in 2002 and was named a semifinalist for the Colorado Teacher of the Year in 2010. He is currently the lead technology facilitator for the Joseph Sears School in Kenilworth, Ill. He is the father of three teenagers and is happily married to the love of his life.

Aaron Sams has been an educator since 2000. He received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching in 2009 and co-chaired the committee to revise the Colorado Science Academic Standards. He regularly turns off all his electronic devices to spend time with his wife and three children, and he highly recommends implementing unplugged Sundays for those who struggle to power down and spend time with the ones who matter most. Sams holds a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and a master of arts degree in education, both from Biola University, Colo. He is currently a classroom science teacher in Woodland Park, Colo.

Review:

"This deceptively simple "book of stories" should be of interest to teachers everywhere. It is, of course, based solely on anecdotal evidence, but the experiences shared by practising teachers with their peers are persuasive and stimulating. I highly recommend it." - British Journal of Educational Technology, Vol. 46, No. 6, 2015
