Demonstrates the importance of each life in the scheme of things and shows not only that it is possible, but also how it is possible for one person to make a lasting impression on humanity as a whole.

From the Inside Flap:

Do you believe that people have the power to change the world if they put their minds to it? Have you ever been in a situation where you knew you could do something to help someone, but did not because you didn't think it would matter? Have you ever wondered what would happen if you did one kind thing for three people, and they did the same?

You have probably heard about chaos theory, and how minute changes in complex systems can have enormous consequences. Though this theory is often applied to economics and business, its applications have perhaps the greatest potential in the realm of our relationships--our families and our communities.

Inspired to write this book by colleagues who asked him what they could really do to effect change in the world, King Duncan explains the simple premise: one life touches another life and potentially both are changed; one life touches another life and potentially the entire world is changed.

Duncan explores this premise through anecdotes of both famous and everyday people, places, and events, and with concrete examples of things we can do to make amazing things happen.

King Duncan is a professional speaker and author of two other books. In 1993, he was the national winner of the International Platform Association's prestigious Speaker's Ladder Award. He lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, with his wife, Selina, and he owns and manages his communications company, Seven Worlds Corporation.

From the Back Cover:

The Amazing Law of Influence is a truly remarkable book."
--Zig Ziglar, author of See You at the Top

If you knew you could exert a positive influence on the world, would you really do it?

One person can make a difference. This reader-friendly book looks at chaos theory--how small changes can trigger monumental transformations.
Scientists have long studied the principles associated with atomic structure and behavior--that through a chain of reactions, a butterfly flapping its wings in Malibu can produce a monsoon in Malaysia months later--but its application to human behavior has been regarded merely as "a nice idea."
But is it just that, or is it really possible to change the world, one's community, or even relationships within a family? Full of engaging anecdotes and concrete advice, The Amazing Law of Influence demonstrates the importance of each life to the human family. It goes even further than that to show how it is possible for one person to make a lasting change to family, community, and even humanity as a whole.

Book Description Pelican Publishing Co, United States, 2001. Hardback. Book Condition: New. Language: English . Brand New Book. You have heard about it in Pay It Forward, youve heard about it in Six Degrees of Separation, but no single author has given as much consideration to the laws of influence as King Duncan does here. This reader-friendly book looks at chaos theoryhow small changes can trigger monumental transformations. The example of this theory most often cited is that of Edward Lorenz, who discovered in the 1960s that the tiniest movement in the air in one part of the world can produce dramatic changes in weather patterns months later in another part of the world. Thus, a butterfly flapping its wings in Malibu might set into motion a series of events that could produce a monsoon months later in Malaysia. The Law of Influence states that one life touches another and potentially both lives are changed; through this change, potentially the entire world is changed. Even chance eventsa smile, a word spoken at just the right moment, or even people like John Howard, who helped a young English journalist return home. The young journalist was Winston Churchill, and the rest is history.More important than explaining what the law of influence is, this book explains how individuals can use it to create a life worth living, and to share the lessons to create families and communities that work together for the greater good. Together, people aware of and involved with their own influence on others have the potential to make amazing things happen. Bookseller Inventory # AAC9781565548619
