She has also been admitted to the United Nations as a full member. In order to shed light on the background and the force of South Korea's political development and diplomatic achivements, Dr. Kim has gathered the papers he wrote on the Northern Policy of Korea and also on her relations with her neighbors in the light of the Korean War and the division of the Korean peninsula.

About the Author

Kim Hakjoon (Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh, 1972) is Professor of Political Science at the Graduate School, Dangook University, Seoul, Korea. Dr. Kim was a Member of the 12th National Assembly and Chief Press Secretary to and Spokesperson for the President of the Republic of Korea. During 1993-94, he is a Guest Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Washington, D.C.
