About the Author:

Shari Nielsen-Dunn has taught in a multi-age intermediate classroom at Agnes Risley Elementary School in Sparks, Nevada. She is also the upper grade Literacy Coordinator for her school, where she works with other teachers developing effective literacy practice. For the past 15 years Shari has worked with picture and word sorts in her classroom. She earned her Master's Degree in Literacy Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1999. She has worked with the authors of Words Their Way in developing classroom materials, procedures and routines.
