This program concentrates on the piano, the most frequently featured solo instrument and the personal favorite of both Dudley Moore and Sir Georg Solti. They discuss their love for what Dudley calls "this huge machine" their hatred of "Fur Elise," and how Robert Schumann crippled himself in his desire to play better. Works performed are extracts from Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto, Brahms 'Variations on a Theme by Haydn, and Schumann's Piano Concerto in A Minor. (28 minutes, color)
