Brent Ruben, Ph.D. is Professor II of Communication and Organizational Psychology, and Executive Director of the Center for Organizational Development and Leadership at Rutgers University.
Dr. Ruben is the founding chair of the National Consortium of Continuous Improvement in Higher Education (NCCI) and has served as co-chair on the Conference Board of the National Quality Council on Higher Education. He has been an examiner for the Department of Commerce/NIST Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Awards and a member of the NIST Education and Pilot Advisory and Evaluation Team. He is also a member of the Professional Development Faculty for the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), and he provides professional consultation to a variety of corporate, healthcare, governmental and educational organizations. In 2000, Rutgers honored Dr. Ruben with the Daniel Gorenstein Memorial Award for outstanding scholarship and service to the university community.
Dr. Ruben is the author or editor of more than 40 books and 100 book chapters and journal articles. In the area of higher education quality, his other books include Strategic Planning in Higher Education (with Sherrie Tromp, NACUBO, 2003), Quality in Higher Education (Transaction Books, 1995), Pursuing Excellence in Higher Education: Eight Fundamental Challenges (Jossey-Bass, 2003), Excellence in Higher Education (NACUBO, 2009), and a CD series on Organizational Development (NACUBO, 2006).
