Author Paul Warren poses a challenge to readers of Caleb Beldragon's Chronicle of the Three Counties: recover the Malbigon, a magical gemstone, and return it to its rightful place in order to restore peace to a land in turmoil. An elaborately imagined kingdom, once ruled by a good king who was loved and respected by his followers, has been overthrown by his wicked brother, and evil abounds.
