In the thirty-five years I have been involved in the beauty industry, I have seen just about every beauty crisis that's known to woman. Many times, I have been called upon to solve these problems, and most often, time is of the essence. "Diane, you've got twenty minutes to make our star look twenty pounds thinner." That's an easy one. "Hey, Di, Ms. Celebrity didn't get that face lift. Get some years off her face!" Okay, just tell me how many years off you need, and I'll let you know how long it will take. These beauty alarms happen behind those runways, on movie sets and on TV shows, but they also happen in everyday living.
"Help! I am going to meet my ex, and need to lose ten pounds in a week--or at least look like I have!"
"Yikes, I'm going on a big date, and a giant zit has taken over my face!"
"Oh no! I just colored my hair, and now it's bright orange!"
I've seen these emergencies and so much worse. I've solved most of them, and I'm here to solve yours. I hope you'll use these tips not only to solve those beauty issues, but to streamline your own beauty routines, add some glamour to your life, share your beauty finds with your friends, daughters, mothers, colleagues and save a lot of money and frustration.
Until now, when your do-it-yourself hair dye turned orange or purple, you'd end up calling your hair stylist, which takes time and money and defeats the purpose of doing it yourself.
Or you'd try desperately to cover up that pimple, and look like you're wearing a giant "bump" on your face.
Beauty myths abound. Besides solving your problems, I hope to bring practicality to your beauty care. We have every right to make beauty a part of our lives. We live in a world where first impressions are most lasting. But trust me, once you simplify your beauty, it will bring you confidence and contentment that will spill over into other parts of your life. Once you give yourself that respect, you'll be able to give to others. It will become an integral part of your well-being. Your new routines will become as natural and important to you as brushing your teeth. Becoming the best you can be--no matter what your size, age or other parameters--is your birthright. Use it well.
