About the Author

Mary is an internationally recognized quiltmaker, fashion designer, instructor, lecturer, and quilt show judge who has authored a cookbook, six quilt books and a DVD, "Mary Stori Teaches You Beading On Fabric". Her newest book is "Embellishing With Felted Wool". Mary was named 2004 Teacher of the Year by the Professional Quilter. She has written extensively and had work appear in scores of quilt magazines and publications. Her award winning work has been widely exhibited both nationally and internationally. She's appeared on HGTV's "Simply Quilts" and "Sew Perfect" several times. An entire episode of Fon's & Porter's "Love of Quilting" featured her beaded quilts. She designed the Mary Stori Collection for Kona Bay Fabrics, and her own line of stencils for Quilting Creations.

May 2015 Felt is such a versatile medium. This book uses felt and other embellishments to create some amazing projects. Mary brings together all her skills to bring 16 projects to embellish numerous things. The embellishments can also be used for other projects. The book is jammed packed full of information, instructions, patterns and guides to help even a beginner to be able to create each of the projects. The pictures are clear and the instructions are clear and in depth so you'll feel capable of achieving everything. The hints and tips that she gives you are brilliant. I wouldn't of thought of quite a few of them and will be using these techniques in some of my other projects. I also love the fact that you are given all the skills so that you can create your own designs. Everything from preparation to completing the projects is included. My favorite has to be the half moon dreams. The cute picture of the bear on a button moon is super cute. It would look good on a pillow or just as a decoration on the wall. The full templates are included at the back of the book so you won't have to worry about photocopying anything. Just cut out the template and then get started.
