Train Driver Tubb™

If bathtub toys could talk, they might resemble the animated objects called Rubbadubbers starring in this debut video, based on the Nick Jr. children's series. Five simple tales make up this 45-minute collection featuring a wind-up shark, a soapy crocodile, and a small cadre of whimsical characters who love bubbles, bath water, and imaginative play. In one episode, Tubb learns a lesson about teamwork on a runaway train. In another story, Sploshy dreams of performing tricks like Winona the whale, until she discovers that sponges are uniquely talented too. And every child can relate to Finbar, who just wants a little respect but gets carried away with being a "scary shark." The stories explore common preschool predicaments--such as sharing, fears, and loneliness--and find solutions through the amusing antics of a group of odd ball friends. More endearing than Teletubbies, this British show has the potential to create quite a splash in small-tyke entertainment. (Ages 2 to 5) --Lynn Gibson
