James E. Harf is a native of Pennsylvania and the father of one daughter. He received his doctorate of philosophy in political science from Indiana University Bloomington. He spent most of his career as a professor at Ohio State University, with visiting appointments at Duke University and Penn State University. Harf resides in Florida, where he currently serves as Professor of Government and World Affairs as well as Director of the Office of International Programs at the University of Tampa. Harf appears regularly on television as a commentator on world events. An experienced global traveler, he can converse at various levels of competency in English, Russian, French, Spanish and Italian. While he has authored numerous scholarly texts, "Memories of Ivy" is his debut novel.
