Synopsis
Adm. Joseph Mason Reeves (1872-1948) took command of the U.S. Navy's nascent carrier arm during a critical period, transforming it from a small auxiliary command in support of the battle line into a powerful strike force. About the Author
Thomas Wildenberg held consecutive appointments to the Ramsey Fellowship in naval aviation history at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. He is the author of Destined for Glory: Dive-Bombing, Midway, and the Evolution of Carrier Air Power. He lives in the Washington, D.C., area.
