Edward P. Link has more than 40 years of industrial experience as Engineer, Manager, and Consultant. Nearly all his corporate career was devoted to Quality Engineering and Quality Management assignments at Xerox Corporation and Eastman Kodak Company. He has more than three years of experience as an assessor of quality systems for a leading registrar of ISO 14000, ISO 9000, IATF 16949, and AS9100 environmental and quality systems. In that capacity, Mr. Link has conducted more than two hundred quality system audits. He was a practicing Quality Consultant with more than ten years of experience in that role. He has been called upon to consult and/or train for companies both large and small.
His publications have found wide acceptance among companies dedicated to continuous process improvement and seeking to abbreviate the lengthy documentation task required for Quality System certification. Mr. Link emphasizes the reduction of variation which is rooted in his extensive exposure to the philosophies and teachings of both Dr. W. Edwards Deming and Dr. Genichi Taguchi.
Mr. Link was appointed by the United States Department of Commerce National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to serve in the capacity of Examiner on the 1991 Board of Examiners of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Mr. Link's formal education includes a BS in electrical engineering and an MS in mathematical and applied statistics both from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. As consultant and Instructor on QMS and other quality related topics, he uses both his education and his experience to help others in the crucial tasks of quality system development and continual process improvement.
