Describes some things that can make you angry and ways to deal with these feelings
"synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.
PreS-Gr 1-Simple sentences on alternating pages note when a particular emotion is experienced, followed by when it isn't ("I feel angry when my brother will not let me sit on the couch. I do not feel angry when Mom and I read a book together"). Each title ends with the knowledge that no matter how scared, angry, or sad a person may feel, these emotions will eventually pass. ("It is okay for me to feel angry. Later, I will not feel angry.") Unfortunately, the flat texts beg for additional commentary. While the controlled vocabulary, pronunciation guides, and glossaries will assist beginning readers, they will be no closer to understanding the concepts or reconciling their emotions after reading the books. Thus, they would be best used in a one-on-one situation. Full-color photographs of children from different ethnic groups illustrate these small volumes.-Kit Vaughan, Midlothian Middle School, VA
